This item includes the pin back button supplies you need to make 100 1.5 inch buttons:

100 Mylar
100 Shells
100 Pinned Backs

Description: This package includes all the metal and plastic bits (shells, pinbacks, and mylar) that you need to make 100 buttons. The only thing missing is the art - which you provide!
Production: Time: If you're punching out graphics one at a time with a graphic punch it takes about 45 minutes to make 100 buttons. 30 minutes to print and cut circles and 15 minutes to press the buttons. You can speed up production by punching more than one graphic at time, using a faster printer, etc.
Tools: Making buttons includes designing, printing, cutting out circles, pressing buttons, and inserting pin-backs. So you'll need to have a computer with a graphics program, or some way to make button designs, a printer laser or inkjet will do, a circle cutter, and of course the Button Making machine.
Paper: The Model 150 can accommodate paper up to 5 mil in thickness. That includes standard office or laser paper, as well as many papers called "Photo Quality Inkjet" or something similar.
Parts: One and one quarter inch button parts include mylar, shells, & pin-backs.
Demographics: One and a half inch buttons also share the market with 1, 1.25, and 1.75 inch badges. This size is a bit more retro and appeals to the 25-40 year old crowd more than teens. A lot of the vintage rock buttons you find from the 70's era are 1-1/2 inches. This is a great size for niche collectors and novelty or joke pins as well.

The front and back parts of the buttons were good. For some reason, the plastic covering for the buttons did not quite want to fit? We ended up not using the plastic covering which is a shame because the longevity of the button will be compromised. Otherwise, the shipping and communication was prompt and professional.

Q: I'm looking to purchase pin back button blanks for hand assembly, and am tryign to determine if the fronts to these have an edge that's tapered inward (allowing hand assembly) or a straight cylindrical edge (requiring machine assembly). Can you let me know if any of the pin backs you provide will work with hand assembly of fabric using a small rubber/plastic jig?

A: As far as I am aware, no. All of our supplies are made for use in button making machines purchased on this website. What you are describing sounds a bit like a badge a minit press, which might work with our 1.25 inch sets. You should text a photo of your jig to 314-329-7088 for more information.

A: Yes. If you use equipment you purchased from ButtonMakers.net, the seal is tight enough to resist water and can be worn outside for years.
