Watch Becky break down the different demographics that each size button caters to.

We broke down the most common round sizes into 3 basic categories: Small, Medium, and Large. The Small buttons 1 inch, 1.25 inch, and 1.5 inch are most commonly used for pop culture promotions. Think bands, films, lifestyle branding. You expect that the end customer will wear these buttons on their jacket and bags as a way to project their interests and show their personality.

Medium buttons, 1.75 inch, 2 inch, and 2.25 inch cater more to artists and illustrators because they're a little bigger, but not too big. You might use this size at Comicon for example because you'll want something large enough to showcase your art but small enough to still be something people will want to wear on their everyday clothes. 2.25 inch buttons are also the most popular size button for poltical campaigns.

Large buttons, 2.5 inch, 3 inch, and 3.5 inch are more appealing to 45+ year olds and kids. Using 2.5 or 3 inch for a political campaign is also smart because it's going to make your campaign button stand out a bit more in a crowd. 3.5 inch buttons are those big ASK ME type buttons you might want to get for your store employees. 3 inch and 3.5 iinch buttons are also the best sizes to use for making photo buttons, espeically on-site photo buttons because we carry special photo equipment made for use with high speed event printers.

If you're hoping to set up a button making station at a party or an event catering to kids younger than teens, we typically recommend 2.25 inch or larger so that it's easier to draw or color in your circles and less easy to put in your mouth! (Kids do weird stuff.)

We also carry a 6 inch button maker for making on-site photo buttons at carnivals and state fair type events. These are really fun and fetch a decent profit margin too! The 2x3 inch button maker is most commonly used for refrigerator magnets that you see in gift shops all around the world!
