Q:I'm wondering if I can make 2 1/4" bottle openers/key chains, mirrors, magnets and regular buttons with this machine. Will I need different dies for each item? thanks

A: Any of the products in the the 2-1/4 inch section of the site will work in this machine. You do not need any additional dies or inserts for this machine.

A: All of the items you mentioned work perfectly in the machine. Only suggestion, if doing bottle openers, be careful if they have a magnet in them (built in) as I had major problems with crimping - w/magnets they won't seal properly.

Q:Can you set this to accept smaller pins (ie 1 ¼) and how do you size this for smaller pins?

A: No. You cannot change the size of any ProMaker button machine. BUT! believe me when I tell you that is an advantage! Being able to remove the dies degrades the quality of the machine. This machine is built for production. It is made to last. removing the dies on button machines leaves them prone to alignment issues and all sorts of other problems. Making a machine for one size only is the way to make a button machine that has zero problems, and will outlast you. Trust me.

Q:Hi! My teenage daughter is asking for a button maker as a holiday gift. I'm thinking of getting her the 2 1/4 inch one. I think she mostly wants to make magnets, and may also want the option to use fabric instead of paper. Would this product serve those functions? Can she just buy strong small round magnets somewhere and glue them on? And are replacement supplies readily available (for pins or magnets, or anything else)?
Thanks!

A: Hello. This machine makes beautiful referigerator magnets! We carry magent supplies in the Magnets and More section of the website. Of course you can also buy supplies elsewhere and glue whatever you want to them. These machines conform to US Standards and work with supplies that are made to US Standards.
As far as fabric goes, different fabrics will have better or worse results. It just depends. I find you get the best results from using a standard cotton fabric that is ironed onto an interfacing and cut to a really really perfect circle. You can use the MultiCutter for those perfet circles.
Replacement supplies can always be purchased from ButtonMakers.net!

Q:Greetings from Portland, Oregon! I’m a volunteer for Elizabeth Warren’s campaign for President. On the local level, the campaign is all grassroots volunteers. In Portland, we are starting a little button makers group, making buttons not only for Portland but for Warren volunteers in Oregon’s rural counties. So far, two of my friends have bought ProMakers that make 2.25” buttons, both at a discount with a warrantee. I want to buy one, too. Do you often have used machines to sell? Do you have any now? Do you have a list of people waiting for a used machine to come in? We are glad that we found you – a women-owned union shop.

A: We occasionally have used machines available. but we don't have any 225's right now. When we do, we post them in the Used Equipment section of the site. My recommendation would be to follow us on social media and get on our mailing list for announcements of discounts and specials.
