Brick City ButtonMakers carries button making supplies that work with the Tecre machines we carry. We stock mostly Imperial or US size button supplies which are not compatible with metric machines. We do also have a limited selection of metric size supplies as well. 

Button makers come in all different sizes. The most common are 2.25, 1.25, and 3 inch, or their metric counterparts 58mm, 32mm, and 75mm. But there are many other sizes out there as well!

There are two main sizing categories when it comes to button making: Imperial and Metric. We also refer to imperial measurements as US standard, American sizing, or just standard sizing. Most button makers made in the US use imperial measurements. Most machines made in China use metric. Though there are some exceptions!

If your machine looks like it came from 1972 and you are in the US, it's probably imperial. If it came from Amazon or eBay new in the last 10 years it's probably metric!

The shell is the smooth domed piece that makes up the button. This should fit snuggly into the inner ring of the pickup die on your button maker. 

The pickup die is sometimes labeled A. On most machines, it's one on the left when the die table is turned. There are some machines with the pickup die on the right though! The pickup die usually has more space underneath and is shallower than the crimp die.
